Family Service - October

The Family Service took place on Thursday 10th October and was very well attended by over 70 parents and children. Our theme was based on the question ‘What difference can I make?’

The worship team did an excellent job posing questions and performing poems and prayers.  There was a wonderful family atmosphere as children and adults alike made bird feeders, planted pledges, make bookmarks and planted broad beans. We also tucked into tea, cake and biscuits. Donations were kindly given and monies have been used to buy food and toiletries for the Walsall North Foodbank. We are grateful for your continued support.

Every blessing,

The Worship Team

The Installation of the 99th Bishop of Lichfield...

On Saturday 24 September two pupils from the Worship Team and two members of staff were invited to the installation of the 99th Bishop of Lichfield, the Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave OBE.

It was a wonderful sunny morning when we gathered on the car park of St John's School and we were all excited and ready to go.

after a short journey we arrived at the cathedral to see a mass of people, many from different parts of the world - we were in awe! After collecting our tickets we took our seats near the crossing, right in front of the chair. The ceremony was both moving and spectacular and we all felt privileged to be there. Both Ruby and Trinity thought the singing was beautiful - the best bit for them.

After the service we had a chance to walk around the cathedral and take a few photographs. On the way out Trinity and Ruby met Bishop Michael and we all agreed he was a lovely man. To top off a wonderful morning we had a picnic (provided by the cathedral) on the cathedral green. We thank God for the day and our new bishop.

St John’s R.E. Club

Our after school KS2 R.E. club begins on Wednesday 21st September and will continue until Wednesday the 9th of November. The club runs from 3:15 to 4:15 and will reflect being part of an Anglican Church school. As a group we will explore the histories of St John’s church and Lichfield Cathedral as well as unpicking what is going on in our church today. We will explore this through story, drama, food, music and discussion.
